چکیده

In the following experimental study the ability of normal and partially hepatectomized rats to clear their bloodstream of epinephrine-induced lactic acid loads was compared. As reported previously, significant differences in the handling of these loads were observed, and additional studies were carried out comparing the effect of carbon tetrachloride poisoning and bile duct ligation on the rat liver's ability to handle similarly induced lactic acid elevation.2"

Determination of epinephrine in the presence of uric acid and folic acid using nanostructure-based electrochemical sensor

Fabrication and electrochemical characterization of a sensor for the determination of epinephrine (EP), uric acid (UA) and folic acid (FA) is described. The sensor  was prepared using carbon paste electrode (CPE) modified with 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde-2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazone (DDP) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs), which makes the modified electrode highly sensitive for the electrochemical detect...

Effect of Temperature and pH on Formulating the Kinetic Growth Parameters and Lactic Acid Production of Lactobacillus bulgaricus

Background and Objectives: Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp bulgaricus is widely used in dairy industries as a starter for yogurt production. This study was designed using response surface methodology (RSM) in 12 batch pH-controlled cultures of Lactobacillus delbrueckii sub-ssp. bulgaricus for determining the effect of temperature and pH on the biomass production of a native strain of L. bulgaricu...

The Mechanism of Epinephrine Action

It has been shown in a previous paper that subcutaneous injections of epinephrine lead to an increase in blood lactic acid of rabbits and cats (1). The effect was more pronounced in the former species than in the latter. This increase in blood lactic acid after epinephrine injection was also observed in men (2) and rats (3) and it seems likely therefore that it occurs in all mammals. Other expe...

The Influence of Insulin and Epinephrine on the Lactic Acid Content of Blood and Tissues.*

Briggs, Koechig, Doisy, and Weber (1) recently put forward the theory that insulin influences the reversible reaction glucose tlactic acid in the direction of lactic acid and that glucoseisformed in diabetic animals because the influence of insulin is lacking. This theory seemed welcome in one respect, because it might have had some bearing on the decrease in the liver and muscle glycogen that ...
